How are minutes calculated for billing?

We calculate your minutes based on the total time required to handle the call, including any after-call work our receptionists do to take your messages.

We do not charge for calls that disconnect within thirty seconds. These are often wrong numbers, and you shouldn't have to pay for that. You are also not charged for any queue time between when the call reaches our system and when the receptionist answers. This is generally not more than a few seconds, but the time is not billed to you.

For calls longer than thirty seconds, we bill by the whole minute, rounded up. So a call of, for example, one minute and twenty-five seconds would be billed as two minutes used.
